Mark every page.
Without an editor.
Stamp DRAFT, CONFIDENTIAL, or your brand across every page — centered or tiled, with a live preview. Local processing, nothing uploaded.
How do I watermark a PDF for free? Load the PDF, type your text, tune the opacity and angle, and press Add watermark. The live preview shows page 1; the saved file carries the mark on every page. No upload, no account, no per-page work.
PDF watermark tool
The preview approximates the final result (exact font rendering happens in the PDF itself). Centered + 20% opacity is the classic "DRAFT" look; tiled mode makes a document harder to reuse.
Why watermark at all?
A watermark does two jobs: it labels a document's status (DRAFT, VOID, COPY) and it deters casual reuse of your work — proposals, samples, course materials, and proofs. Doing it by hand in an editor means opening heavyweight software for a one-line stamp; this tool does the whole document in one pass, locally.
Getting a good watermark
- Status marks — DRAFT / VOID / COPY: centered, 45°, 15–25% opacity, red or grey. Visible, but the text underneath stays readable
- Protection marks — your name, brand, or order ID: tiled mode at 10–15% opacity. Repeated small marks are much harder to crop out than one big stamp
- Color logic — red reads as "not final"; grey reads as "branding"; dark colors at low opacity look like printed stationery
- Check the preview — it updates live for text, size, opacity, angle, and position before you commit
What this tool does and doesn't do
It draws text watermarks (any string up to 40 characters) into every page. It does not add image/logo watermarks, per-page different texts, or password protection — for those, pair it with the rest of the PDF family: rotate pages, delete pages, merge documents, or sign the result. Everything stays on your device.
How do I add a watermark to a PDF for free?
Load the PDF, type your watermark text, adjust opacity, rotation, and position, then press Add watermark. The preview shows page 1 live, and the saved file carries the watermark on every page. Nothing is uploaded.
Can I watermark all pages at once?
Yes — the watermark is applied to every page in one pass. Choose centered (one diagonal stamp in the middle) or tiled (a repeating grid across the page).
Will the watermark cover the text underneath?
At typical settings (15–30% opacity) the watermark sits visibly over the content without hiding it. Use higher opacity for stronger protection, or tiled mode to make the document harder to reuse without attribution.
Can someone remove the watermark afterwards?
The watermark is drawn into the page content, so removing it requires editing the PDF — it is not a separate layer you can simply toggle off. For documents that need tamper-proof marking, combine it with a signature or certification service.
Is my PDF uploaded anywhere?
No. The PDF is read, watermarked, and saved entirely in your browser. You can verify in the network panel or by working offline.
