Valentine’s Day 2027 is Sunday, February 14. The date itself never moves — it is always the 14th of February — but the day of the week does, and in 2027 it lands on a Sunday, which changes the practical planning on both sides of it.

Two knock-on effects. The evening that actually gets celebrated is Saturday, February 13, because Sunday evening is a working night for most people. And the long weekend runs straight into Presidents’ Day on Monday, February 15, which is a federal holiday — so for a lot of the United States, February 14, 2027 sits inside a three-day weekend. If you are planning a trip, a delivery or a meal, that Monday is the one to look at.

• Saturday, February 13, 2027 — the evening most celebrations happen, because the 14th is a Sunday.

The name and the date are not the same thing everywhere. In Spain and most of Latin America the holiday is el Día de los Enamorados and the custom is celebrating on the 14th; in Japan, South Korea and China, Valentine’s Day is mainly a day for giving chocolate, and the romantic holiday is a separate one weeks later. In China, the 14th is also Qixi, the traditional festival, and it falls on the 8th day of the 7th lunar month — which in 2027 is Saturday, February 6, not the 14th.

If you are sending something, the date that matters is earlier

For a physical gift, the useful date is the delivery deadline, not the 14th. Couriers in the US treat mid-February as a peak, and a parcel that has to be there on the 13th or the 14th has to be handed over several days before that — a week for the cheapest services, two or three for the rest. Print a card yourself and post it by the 9th or 10th; after that it is in the same network as everything else being sent for the 14th.

For a digital card or a shared album, the deadline is different: a link sent on the 14th itself is fine, and a scheduled send is better than a late one.
