QUICK ANSWERS
How is WPM calculated?
This page treats five typed characters, including spaces and punctuation, as one standard word. Gross WPM is typed characters divided by five and elapsed minutes; net WPM subtracts the error penalty.
Does the timer start when the page loads?
No. Press Start typing, then the timer begins on your first character so a paused setup does not lower your score.
Are my keystrokes uploaded?
No. The passage, input, timer, and result are handled locally in this browser tab.
