Type into it.
Don't print it.
Load a PDF with form fields, fill them in like a web form, and download the filled copy — no printing, no scanning, no upload.
How do I fill in a PDF form for free? Load the PDF, type into the fields the tool finds (text, checkboxes, dropdowns), and press Save filled PDF. Everything runs locally — no account, no watermark, no "print and scan" dance.
PDF form filler
Works with standard AcroForm PDFs (the kind government forms, banks, and HR documents usually use). Scanned PDFs have no fields — for those, place a signature or text with the sign tool instead.
Fill forms the way they were meant to be filled
Most "fillable PDFs" are interactive: they contain real form fields (text boxes, checkboxes, dropdowns) that you can type into. Desktop readers charge for editing them, and printer-and-scan workflows lose quality. This tool reads the fields directly and writes your answers back into the document — the whole round trip happens in your browser.
Getting a good result
- Field names can be cryptic — "Text1" and "Signature2" are common; use the page preview above to match a field to its place on the form
- Flatten by default — flattening makes your values permanent and visible in every viewer; only turn it off if you want someone to be able to edit the fields afterwards
- Then sign if needed — a filled form is not a signed one: run the result through Sign PDF to place your signature on the dotted line
- Check the saved copy — open the download once to confirm every field landed where you expect
What this tool doesn't do
It doesn't create new fields, remove form protection, or open password-protected files (remove protection with the owner's password first). XFA forms — a different, Adobe-specific format — aren't supported; the tool will tell you when a file has no standard fields. For flat/scanned documents, the honest route is placing text and signatures on the page. Related: merge several filled forms, rotate a sideways scan, or compress before emailing.
How do I fill in a PDF form?
Load the PDF, type into the fields the tool detects (text boxes, checkboxes, dropdowns), and press Save. The filled copy downloads with your values written in — entirely on your device.
Can I fill and sign a PDF in one place?
Fill the form here, then sign it with our Sign PDF tool — the saved file keeps your values, and the signature is placed on top. Both tools run locally.
Why does it say no form fields were found?
The PDF is probably a scan or a flat document without interactive fields. For those, use the Sign PDF tool to place text or a signature directly on the page — or a fill-and-sign service if the form needs true form controls.
What does flattening do?
Flattening bakes your values into the page content so every viewer shows them, even ones that hide form fields. The trade-off: the fields become non-editable. Flattening is on by default; turn it off if you need an editable form.
Is my form uploaded anywhere?
No. The PDF is opened, filled, and saved entirely in your browser. You can verify in the network panel or by working offline.
