Scan it straight.
From a phone photo.
Photograph a document, drag the corners, and get a straightened, enhanced scan — export single pages as JPG or build a multi-page PDF. No scanner, no upload, no app.
How do I scan a document with a phone photo? Choose the photo, drag the four corner dots onto the page corners, press Straighten, pick an enhancement (Enhance or B&W), then download a JPG or add pages to a PDF.
Document scanner
Tips for a good scan: shoot from above in even light, keep the whole page in frame with some margin, and avoid shadows across the text. Multi-page flow: straighten page 1 → Add page to PDF → choose the next photo → repeat → Export PDF.
How to scan a document without a scanner
- Photograph the page — phone camera, overhead, even light. Include a little margin around the page.
- Straighten — drag the four corners onto the page's corners; the perspective transform flattens the angle away.
- Enhance and export — "Enhance" for a clean white page, "B&W" for text-only documents, then JPG or multi-page PDF.
What each mode is for
- Enhance — contracts, receipts, forms with signatures: keeps colour but cleans the background to white.
- B&W — typed documents, books, notes: maximum readability, smallest PDF.
- Original — photos, diagrams, or anything with colour you need to preserve.
Good to know
The straightening is a true perspective correction — the same math scanner apps use — so pages shot at an angle come out rectangular. Everything runs on your device: contracts and IDs never get uploaded. If the scan comes out dark, brighten the original photo first with the image tools, or re-shoot with more light. Related: compress the PDF if it needs to fit an upload limit and PDF to Word to edit it afterwards.
How do I scan a document with my phone?
Photograph the page from above in good light, then open this page and choose the photo. Drag the four corner handles onto the page corners, press Straighten, pick an enhancement, and export as PDF or JPG. Multiple pages can be added to one PDF.
What do the enhancement modes do?
Enhance stretches the brightness range so a grey-ish photo becomes paper-white with dark text. B&W applies an adaptive threshold — the classic scanner look, smallest files, best for text-only documents. Original keeps the photo as-is.
Are my documents uploaded?
No. The straightening (a perspective transform) and enhancement run in your browser, and the PDF is assembled locally. Contracts, IDs, and receipts never leave your device.
