Release date and preorder timeline
The September launch announcement gives four different milestones. Keeping them separate resolves much of the confusion around “release date.”

The product’s launch day and an individual order’s arrival date answer different questions. For a purchase you are considering now, use the estimate shown after choosing your country, storage and delivery method.
What time did preorders open?
Apple’s October 15 update set the opening at 5 a.m. Pacific Time on Friday, October 16. At that date, the same moment was 8 a.m. US Eastern and 1 p.m. British Summer Time. Those are conversions of one opening time, not three separate release events.
If you found an old countdown, check its date before relying on it. Preordering is already open as of this source check; the next first-wave milestone is October 23.
What is confirmed?
Apple’s product page describes a foldable phone with a 7.6-inch inner display, a 5.4-inch outer display, an A20 Pro chip and two 48MP rear cameras. These are published specifications. They do not tell us how comfortable the hinge feels or how the cameras perform in an independent test.

- Separate published claims from measurements. Battery endurance, screen reflections and long-term hinge wear need hands-on evidence. We have not measured them.
